A note on vans and the Clean Air Zone
This catches people out, so it’s worth being clear. Sheffield’s Clean Air Zone charges vans, taxis, minibuses, coaches and HGVs, but not private cars. If you drive a car, you pay nothing.
If you need a van, it matters a great deal: a non-compliant van pays a daily charge, and the zone operates around the clock. Every van we supply meets the standard, so that charge simply doesn’t apply — which over a few months of working in the city is a substantial difference.

What you recover depends on the vehicle and how it’s used. A car available for private use generally allows 50% recovery on the hire charges. That restriction can work differently for maintenance billed on its own line — not something you’ll see here, as ours is included in the monthly price.
