The Polestar 2 is the car most people try first when they move to electric — quick, well-built, and running Google natively rather than a manufacturer’s own software. A subscription is the low-risk way to find out whether it suits you, without committing to three years or carrying the depreciation.
Drive Subscribe stocks the Polestar 2 range on terms from one month, three, six or nine months, up to twelve. Road tax and servicing are included, and we deliver to your door.

Design
Clean lines, a minimalist approach and a distinctive LED light signature that makes it recognisable at a distance. Inside, vegan upholstery and recycled plastics sit alongside ambient lighting and a genuinely spacious layout. It’s restrained rather than showy — closer to Scandinavian furniture than to most rivals’ cabins.
Performance and handling
The dual-motor Polestar 2 has more than enough for effortless overtaking and brisk standing starts. It stays composed across surfaces, and the adjustable suspension means it works for both the commute and a longer, more spirited drive. Exact power and torque vary by version — current specifications are on the stock page.
Range and charging
Range depends on the version, and Polestar has offered several battery and motor combinations — the figure for the car you’d actually get is shown on the stock page. Whichever you take, DC fast charging brings back a meaningful charge in roughly half an hour and a home wallbox handles overnight top-ups. For most drivers the routine is charge at home, and use public rapid chargers only on longer trips.
Interior and comfort
Room for adults in the back, minimal cabin noise, and a driving position that adjusts properly. Sustainable materials throughout, which matters more to some buyers than others but doesn’t cost anything in feel.
Technology
A 12.3-inch driver display and 13-inch centre touchscreen, running Android Automotive with Google Maps and Assistant built in — not mirrored from your phone, but native. Wireless charging and multiple USB-C ports are standard. If you already live in Google’s ecosystem, this is the most natural infotainment system in any EV.
Safety
A strong Euro NCAP rating, with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and collision avoidance as standard alongside the usual airbags and stability systems. Multiple sensors and cameras monitor what’s around you and intervene before you need to.
Polestar 2, 3 or 4?
The Polestar 2 is a fastback — lower, tighter to park, better suited to city and commuting use. The Polestar 3 is a larger SUV built for families and longer journeys. Between the two sits the Polestar 4, an SUV coupé with no rear window — a camera and screen replace it, which is the sort of thing worth trying on a short term before deciding. If you’re weighing all three up, our Polestar subscription hub puts them side by side.
Why subscribe rather than buy
EV technology is moving quickly, and battery and software generations date faster than combustion cars ever did. A subscription means you’re never holding a depreciating asset when the next generation arrives. You get a new car, servicing, road tax and breakdown cover in one monthly payment, with none of the resale risk — and if the Polestar 2 doesn’t fit your life, you hand it back rather than sell it.
It’s also the honest way to test whether your routes and charging setup work in practice. Spreadsheets say one thing; three months of real driving says another. More on that in our guide to the benefits of an electric car subscription.
Pricing and VAT
Prices are shown excluding VAT, as most of our business customers reclaim it. The inc-VAT figure is shown alongside, so sole traders and private individuals who can’t reclaim can see what they’ll actually pay.
Two things worth understanding before you commit. Where a leased car is available for private use, VAT recovery on the hire charges is generally restricted to 50%. Maintenance itemised separately on the invoice usually allows 100% recovery, so ask for it to be broken out. Vans are treated differently again and generally allow full recovery on business use.
Our guide to VAT on lease cars sets out how it works in more detail.
This is general guidance rather than tax advice. Your position depends on how the vehicle is used, so check with your accountant before signing.

Every car is supplied from stock, which is why delivery runs to 10–14 days rather than same-day. Specifications are listed against each vehicle on the stock page so they stay current as the fleet changes.
